Get StartedIN CONVERSATION: Integrating the Idea of “Six Dawns” into Daily Life (Part 6 of 6)
Making Sense Of: Morning Prayers
In Making Sense of: Morning Prayers, Rabbi Fohrman shared a powerful insight into why morning is such an important time for prayer. When we witness the dawning of a new day, it calls to mind the very first six dawns of creation and, so, morning is the perfect prompt to renew our awe in God and gratitude to HIm as our Creator. This is an inspiring idea, but what would it look like to truly integrate it into our everyday lives? Could an awareness of creation really alter our very experience of prayer? Is praying in the morning actually the key to gaining this awareness? And if morning is such a powerful reminder of creation, how come it’s so easy for many of us to miss this message in the first place?
Join Rabbi Fohrman as he explores these questions in conversation with Immanuel Shalev, producer of Making Sense of: Morning Prayers. Together they reflect on the real life spiritual implications of this series, including the challenges and possible benefits of routine prayer; the link between prayer and nature; the importance of preparing emotionally for davening; and how working on this series has forever changed their own relationships with prayer.
